The Oudolf Field Through The Seasons
A garden through the seasons- the ‘Oudolf Field’ at Hauser & Wirth Somerset.
The ‘Oudolf Field” is a 1.5 acre perennial meadow style garden designed by Piet Oudolf which is in the grounds of the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth at Durslade Farm in Somerset. The garden is designed to have year-round interest and is a joy to see in every season. I particularly love visiting the garden in the height of summer, and in autumn with all the seed heads.
The first collection of photos are from a visit to the field in August, which is peak summertime in Somerset. All the flowers were covered in bees & butterflies and the whole field was a riot of summer colour!

Garden views in summer.
Echinacea, Sedums & Anemones fill the field.
The next series of photos were taken on an early autumn visit to the ‘Oudolf Field’.
In early autumn the flowers are starting to fade, and the seed head structures are left to frame the garden for the season ahead and into Winter.
The ‘Oudolf Field’ in the depths of Winter. Seed-heads frame the whole garden in wintertime.
The ‘Oudolf Field’ in spring-these photos were taken in May. The cycle of the garden starts again-with all the plants bursting into a new season of growth for the months ahead.
Hope you enjoyed my photos through the seasons of the ‘Oudolf Field’. Such a beautiful & inspirational garden to visit xx
