May is my favourite month in the countryside, where the landscape is filled with wildflowers everywhere. It was a joy to wander round the gardens at Mapperton House here in Dorset to enjoy all the Wisteria in bloom, the first roses and the lower parts of the garden- where in February it had been filled with Snowdrops, was now a sea of Cow Parsley under the canopy of all the trees. A truly stunning garden to wander round, and the topiary in the formal parts of the garden is always breathtaking.
